Construction of TowneBank Symphony Park will begin by early 2027, and the park will reopen by early 2028.
TowneBank Symphony Park is the result of a public-private partnership led by SouthPark Community Partners, the City of Charlotte, and Simon Property Group. The City of Charlotte will invest $8 million via neighborhood and transportation bonds dedicated to SouthPark-area projects. Simon Property Group will invest $8 million in anchor restaurant space and will permanently commit the park land for public use. SouthPark Community Partners will contribute $8 million raised through a community-wide capital campaign supported by area businesses and individuals.
For everyone’s safety, the public will not be able to access the park during construction. We look forward to welcoming the community to the park once it reopens!
SouthPark Community Partners will curate a calendar full of events open to everyone. If you’re a nonprofit organization or an event producer interested in hosting an activity at TowneBank Symphony Park in 2028 or beyond, please contact our team at info@southparkclt.org for more information.
For over a decade, residents, workers, and guests have shared their desire for a park that preserves green space, invites greater access, and hosts programs that empower human connection. SouthPark Community Partners conducted extensive community engagement before and during the design process. The project design team, LandDesign and Neighboring Concepts, drew inspiration from SouthPark’s history and from successful public spaces across the country.
